Default How long does it take you to load?

I'm talking about when you change maps or enter missions, etc. My computer is a piece of junk and takes up to a 30 seconds to a minute or more. It's gotten to the point where I'll hit enter mission, go and get a cup of coffee, and come back to play the mission. (I kid). But I'm just interested in how bad my computer is compared to others.

1-3 seconds, very rarely more than that. I play on the US servers with a 3MB connection.

Was same as the OPs, then I upgraded from 256k ram to 768(or something like that). Zones almost instantaneously now.

Same as Lasareth... from 256 to 512 and loading times dwindled from "ridiculous long" down to "loading... what?".

1-5 seconds with only one map taking more time to load (that PVP Druid Style Map takes 20 seconds to load... funny isn't it?)

5 seconds unless the computer has been on for a while, in which case it takes 30 or so....

lol yeah, a second or two. New areas take me maybe 10 seconds if they're large new areas, otherwise still only around 5 seconds.

Stupid thing is though, this is 1mb broadband, which is usually ridiculously slow on downloads... oh well, yay for GW!

Same here, because I have a really crap p3 933 512 mb ram.

The loading bar is always at 100% in 3 seconds max, but after this my pc keep swapping and loading for 10 secs (when i just started playing), up to 1 minute after some hours playing.

Sometimes i remain for a while in a "limbo" situation between loading and ready...there is still the loading image, but i see the party window and other party members see me in game.

This can be a bit irritating when i go in uw with trapper teams and everyone start bitching at me "ew! eww! where is ewwwwwwww"...they can see me in game but i'm still loading.

p.s.: new pc incoming soon

I think RAM is one of the most determining factors here. I have 3 PCs running Guild Wars, sometimes simultaneously. Until recently, one of the computers had 256MB of RAM while the other two computers had 1GB of RAM. The load times on the computer with less RAM were simply stifling, especially when my avatar was present in-game, but my computer still showed the load screen. So I upgraded to 1GB on the slower computer--problem solved.

One issue is if you've installed the full game or if you've just installed the client and started playing. If you've just installed the client it'll stream the contents you need every time you enter a new zone, and that takes a while (perhaps a minute for me, and I've got 10MBit). If you re-visit the same zone then loading times should be one or a few seconds, tops, as you've already got the necessary files on your disk.

I don't count - but it feels like a long time.

When I finally can move my guy, The others are usually about half the minimap's distance from me (takes about 10 seconds to catch up)

Exactly the same here. I ask the members nicely to wait because I load slowly but they never do.
